Unit No.2 of Son La hydropower plant started commercial operation since April 20th 2011 after synchronizing sucessfully to the Vietnam national electric grid. Ealier, the first starting of Unit No. 2 turbine was carried out on 12.4.2011, 10 days earlier than planned.

Nam Chien hydropower project has a design capacity of 200 MW, with two units and annual power output of 791 million KWh. This project is located in Nam Chien commune, Muong La district, Son La province. The Employer is Nam Chien Hydropower Joint Stock Company. The project was started in 2007. After 5 years of construction progress, the project has had side tunnels, water tunnels, pit, and arch dam. Construction conditions were very hard especially weather, funds and geology.
 

In the afternoon of March 22, 2011, Mr Le Van Que, VNIC’s Chairman of Board of Directors and Mr. Le Van Chau, Deputy of General Director came to Japanese Embassy in Hanoi to donate the amount of 600,000,000 VND. This is the contribution of Song Da Holdings employees to help Japanese victims to cope with the last earthquake and tsunami’s aftermath.
 

At the moment 11:5 on April 12, 2011, the Unit No.2 (400MW) of Son La hydropower plant (located in It Ong town, Muong La district, Son La province) has been idle running safely and five days earlier than planned. The schedule of generating electricity for the Unit No. 2 was April 25, 2011.

At 5pm on 23/02, The contractor Song Da Group commander at the construction of hydro power in Lai Chau has conducted poured the first concrete block construction for the sewer diversion works plant. Mr. Nguyen Van Tien, executive director of the project, said the sewage diversion hydropower plant near Lai Chau has a length of 1000m, is of paramount importance to the progress of works.

23th January, at construction of hydropower DakDrinh, Son Dung, Tay Son district (Quang Ngai), General Electric Company Vietnam Oil and Gas, Hydropower Corporation Dakdrinh coordinate with general contractor Licogi Group Song Da Corporation Cavico Transportation held a commencement and cross the river of hydropower projects DakDrinh.
